PETER, THE IMPERFECT APOSTLEA Lectio Divina Experience |
||
In Crisis of Faith, Crisis of Love, Father Thomas says, “The gospels are a mirror in which we can sometimes see, if we look closely, what God is doing in our own souls right here and now. In the day-to-day encounters Jesus had with people coming to him, and in developing relationships with his disciples, we recognize examples of symbols of the way we are encountering him and the way he is relating to us and working in us today.”
In Centering Prayer, we consent to the presence and action of God within. Lectio Divina helps us to discern what God’s action is in our lives. During this class, we will pray in the manner of Lectio Divina with the gospel stories about Peter to look closely at our own human condition and how God is calling us into deeper relationship. |
