 Introductory Session - $25

Friday March 8, 6:30 - 9:00 p.m.

Saturday, March 9 - 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

This transformational workshop introduces students of all levels to writing as a path of transformation and self-discovery. When you learn to tell the whole truth about experience and discern your own soul’s journey, you come to understand the mythic dimension of personal struggles, triumphs, confusions, longings, digressions, and so-called mistakes. As you come to realize that you are the storyteller not the story, you are free to examine beliefs, expectations, and biases that have limited your sense of self and move toward a more liberated, authentic, and awakened life. "When you tell the truth, your story changes. When your story changes, your life is transformed," Matousek teaches.

You don't need to be a writer to benefit from Writing to Awaken. In fact, studies have shown that as little as 15 minutes of expressive writing a day can improve physical and emotional health in remarkable ways. Using targeted writing prompts, small-group sharing, and inspirational readings, you'll spend the day exploring the stories of your life for creative and spiritual self-discovery. Matousek's unique, compassionate teaching style creates a welcoming atmosphere for this deeply personal work, which has helped thousands around the world to gain fresh insight, heal from past wounding, and imagine new possibilities.

You will learn to:

  • Question old stories that have held you back
  • Truthfully express your thoughts and feelings in writing
  • Create an ongoing writing practice for self-inquiry and healing
  • Explore the stories you conceal in the shadow, in order to free creative power
  • Overcome the fear of self-confrontation.
  • Use writing as a path of transformation, contemplation, and spiritual awareness
