How do I respond to God’s Call to Service? What is my role in expressing Christian Unity?

During this class Darlene will be drawing upon different spiritual practices to help focus on God’s deep presence within us. It is through the nurturance of our relationship with this presence that we acquire the strength to be of service in the world. Practices that will be utilized in this class include a prayerful and reflective experience with “A Plate Spinner’s Search for Center” and walking the ancient Jesus Prayer. Drawing upon all five senses, there will
also be some prayer and reflection around the story of Jesus blessing the children. The final practice utilized during this two week session will be an exercise called “Praying and Social Consciousness.”

Darlene has been a member of the COC staff since 2016. She is a graduate of the Shalem Institute where she was introduced to Centering Prayer and this past year has become active in teaching Centering Prayer in a variety of settings.
