Presenter: Rick Klein

Rick Klein Article

Saturday, February 9

9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

“We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.” – T.S. Eliot

These words from T.S. Eliot speak to the desire deep within the human heart to know ourselves and our place in the universe. Rick weaves together the lives and teachings of four modern mystics to create a fabric upon which we can trace our unique spiritual paths within the common spiritual journey of all humanity. Ultimately, it is a journey of healing and wholeness.

Our journey will glean insights from the Native American Mystic Black Elk; the contemplative and feminist mystic Beatrice Bruteau; the Jewish mystic and Holocaust victim Etty Hillesum; and priest and environmental advocate Thomas Berry. Together we will journey to the past, present, and future in search of our true nature.

Rick facilitates and teaches spiritual direction in the Benedictine Spiritual Formation Program at the Benet Hill Monastery in Colorado Springs, CO. He is also a presenter in Benet Hill’s Befriending the Mystic Series. Rick is currently finding expression in his passion for teaching in the areas of spirituality, mysticism and contemplation. Rick has presented on these topics at Benet Hill and at the Center for Contemplative Living. He lives with his wife Lori in Fort Collins, CO and enjoys hiking, biking and being in nature.
